We have a variety of volunteer opportunities, so you can choose one that you’re your skills, experience, and interests.

Compassionate Companions

Support individuals facing life-limiting illness or grief by offering companionship and a listening ear. Volunteers will complete training to provide empathetic, non-judgmental support to those in need.

Committee Members

Contribute your expertise to one of our many committees that provide guidance on important aspects of our operations, from fundraising to program development.

Dementia Care Team

Join our specialist team providing support to individuals living with dementia and their families. Volunteers will offer respite, companionship, and help connect families with resources specific to dementia care.

Administration & Event Support

Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, planning events, or offering digital media support like video editing. You can also help lead community initiatives to ensure the success of events like Hike for Hospice and Golf for Hospice.

Board of Directors

Serve on our Board of Directors, providing leadership and strategic direction. The Board meets monthly and offers terms of 3 years with an option for re-election. Positions Officer roles include Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary.

Complementary Care Practitioners

If you are a practitioner in massage therapy, yoga, reiki, or other complementary care modalities, consider offering your services to support the holistic care of our clients.

This presentation showcases the evidence that parks and nature is a valuable intervention for people of all abilities across the lifespan – in disability, dementia, dying, death and grief. Stories, documentary film and research results from 15 years of local studies and program development/evaluation highlight the possibilities and potentials for palliative and grief care in the Bow Valley.

Join us for our November Volunteer Wellness Series event!

Lee Rinne is a Nutrition Consultant and fellow BVP Volunteer. She will be delivering a short presentation about nutrition and proper “fueling” to help reduce stress and promote health and wellness. She will also be sharing recipes and samples with the group.
Join us and sample yummy nutritious snacks with a chat on how food works, the modern food supply and what’s on the end of our fork! Recipes included!
